Perfect place for a family vacation. We had 10 and all slept comfortably and felt like we all had our own spaces to retreat but also great gathering places to fit everyone. Maintenance was super responsive and friendly. Check-in was a breeze and staff was also super friendly - all around great rental experience.

We visited IOP on a very warm March weekend. We are a group of 50 year old women, friends from college. It was the absolutely perfect place for us. We each had a bedroom. The baths were plentiful. Kitchens well stocked. IOP was lovely. We enjoyed the beach - directly across the street. We drove into Charleston for the day (piece of cake). The house is located in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. It is honestly perfect. We had the best stay!

The house is very comfortable and the location is great! We travelled with my family, my sister’s family and our parents. It fit everyone very comfortably. It had everything you may need for cooking and space to sit all together for meals. The beach is very dog friendly which was a plus since we traveled with our dog. Island Realty was great at answering questions and handling any issues. We were there over Christmas and they had someone available to reach out to us, everyone was very friendly. Would stay there again, close to Charleston and other attractions.

We hosted our daughters with families to include 5 grandchildren for a week at this house. We previously rented on Isle of Palms but this location was ideal for our mixed generational family. We really did not need any vehicles as all entertainment, water (pool and ocean) and food is within walking distance. We enjoyed a wonderful week of family that featured great beach weather (always chancey) and memory-making good times.

The rental house is smack in the middle of anything that you would want to go to such as ice cream shop, restaurants, event center, grocery store less than a half a mile away, the beach is right across the street. There were concerts on the weekend nights that we could hear very clearly from our balcony so we enjoyed them for free.

There was ample space for our group which was great. There is a lot of activity nearby (you are in the center of everything) so keep that in mind. We had a ball.

House was very nice and love the elevator to get our items in and out. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking items. The bedroom on the very top floor is a little odd because you either have to take the elevator or the outside stairs.
Location was perfect for beach access and restaurants/bars. If you are sensitive to noise, be aware, you will hear the local establishments and also people parking in the lot next-door.

We rented this property for a girls trip, there were 11 of us and we were excited to be so close to the beach. Upon arrival, the elevator did not work. There are four floors and narrow staircases, one staircase is outside, with a winding, metal spiral - very dangerous to be lugging suitcases up & down. We were also disappointed to notice that beds were not made and there were only 9 towels available... for 4 days, next to the beach, for 11 girls. We called our property manager (Debbie), no response. We called the main office and instead of delivering or sending housekeeping, we were responsible to rectify. Upon further inspection, the pictures shown on the booking site did not match for the pool area. You are next to a public pool with full visibility because the fabric is no longer on the fence. The next morning, after cleaning, they only left us 2 garbage bags, 3 dishwasher tabs (required 2/load) for the entire 4 days. No dish soap, broom, or cleaning spray for counters. And again, our responsibility to go to the grocery store to replenish their supplies. The "starter pack" described for every amenity, not just the soap in the listing. For checkout we lugged all the bags down flights of stairs, tidied, and put the majority of the garbage next to the garbage area for easy access for the cleaners as we used the 2 garbage bags night one. We loaded the dishwasher and left dishes in the sink. We left our bags at the main office and let the front desk woman know our stay wasn't the best. This note was not recorded. We were charged an excess cleaning fee of $180USD, on top of the $4.6kUSD for 3 nights. When I called Debbie to clarify, she said the property was damaged and the cleaning staff had to add staff and spend an additional 4.5 hours. After she sent the pictures and I reviewed, it was as I just described. Of course there was garbage left, we did not have adequate supplies to remove. There were 4 balloons left and water bottles in the bedroom (contained in one spot). Debbie refused to send me the cleaning invoice and told me this matter was closed. I then called Collins, her manager, and was left even more disappointed with his tone and aggressive behaviour. He said the elevator is like wifi and that although we list it as an amenity, sometimes it just doesn't work... and that we should have submitted a maintenance ticket. In my opinion this should have been tested before arrival. He then went on to say they take pictures of the property before guests arrive but refused to send me... He then also contradicted Debbie in saying the cleaners only stayed 2 hours and no mention of extra staff. Totally inappropriate behaviour and I left the call feeling taken advantage. I understand $180USD is nominal but the way we were treated is totally unacceptable. We should not have to continue to make calls, go to the office to pick up supplies, or the grocery store for basics when it is listed as a luxury rental. We went to relax, celebrate the bride, and stick to our full itinerary without running errands. The group travelled from Alberta, the Cayman Islands, and London, UK, we were not prepared to have to work on our vacation. If you're debating booking this property, or any others that Debbie & Collins are related to, I would seriously reconsider. If you do decide, have video footage as evidence as I am sure you'll be nickled & dimed upon check out.

We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment. To ensure transparency, we shared with both you and the reservation holder a set of 13 photos documenting the condition of the property upon your departure. Per our reservation agreement with the reservation holder, a $180 charge was applied for the additional time required by our housekeeping team to clean the property and remove trash, food, and dirty containers left throughout the home, including in every bedroom. A detailed breakdown of these charges was provided to the reservation holder. It is worth noting that, this was the first time we heard from you regarding any concerns about the home—after the charge had been issued. Our checkout procedures are clearly communicated to all guests, and we even offered complimentary trash bags from our office to assist in the cleanup process. Unfortunately, this offer was not taken up, and the home was vacated in a condition that did not meet our expectations for respectful use of a privately owned property. It is unfortunate that your stay ended on this note. These homes are privately owned, and the condition in which the property was left reflected a lack of care and respect for someone else’s space. We take our responsibility to both guests and homeowners seriously, and we appreciate your understanding.

We had the best time on our last minute fall beach getaway. This was our first trip to IOP and we will certainly be back. The house was much larger than we needed for our small group this time but we have already decided to come back with the whole family since it is so accommodating. We loved the convenience of being in the middle of town with shops and restaurants, while also being so close to the beach. The house was well furnished with comfortable beds, along with being well stocked. My elderly mother appreciated the elevator and my small dog loved the backyard pool area. Great use of space for an interesting shaped lot. We also loved people watching from the front porches and rooftop deck!

Beautiful house - looks like the pictures. Pool actually is bigger than it looks in the pictures. So many spaces to hang out - we had a wonderful trip. Perfect walk to everything nearby. Central location!

Great service and well-organized, would use this company again. Everything from initial reservation to check-out was easy, and they were flexible with letting us check-in early. Only complaint was the $650 charge to heat a small pool for 3 nights seemed really steep.

The pictures honestly don’t even do this place justice. It’s over-the-top awesome in every way. You’re steps from the beach and the best restaurants/shops in town. The ground floor is a carport that serves as a perfect place to clean off after the beach with a bathroom, and direct access to the outdoor kitchen and pool area. It’s private, well maintained, and even comes complete with fun details like corn hole and ping pong. The three floors above each boast awesome living areas, master bedrooms and guest bedrooms, and plentiful deck/patio space. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for a large group. It’s amazing. The house was beautiful and spacious just as described. We were celebrating a 20th anniversary and couldn’t wait to visit Isle of Palms. John was a fantastic host and responded quickly to the minor issues we had. The rooftop was perfect for hanging out and laughing with friends and family. The location can’t be beat being across the street from all the restaurants. The Harris teeter is super close as well for all the supplies you need. The main floor kitchen was so well appointed for us to cook up some amazing breakfast. I would absolutely return and hope to again one day! The house was great for our 3 families which included a lot of teens. The pool was a great place to hang out as was the rooftop deck. It was also nice having multiple areas to hang out since we had parents kids and teens! The proximity to the beach was also very convenient. I can not say enough good things about this house, the location was PERFECT, across the street to the public beach access, walkable to all the restaurants, bars and grocery store. The rooms set up and space for 10 women was great. Loved the roof top deck, pool and covered space under 1st floor with ping pong for when it rained. Would highly recommend for your next trip to IOP!
